I took my DANB 2 hours ago and passed!!! I only took the radiography and infection control parts today and will take the general chairside later. This is the only thing I used to study for the test and I recognized a lot of the material covered in this book on the test! Would recommend this book to anyone studying for the DANB! this book is really very helpful. Its useful to understand the concepts better and easier way. Concepts of Infection Control and Patient management are very well explained. Topics like Impression Materials and mounting radiographs are very detail oriented.
If i didnt have this book, i probably wouldnt have passed my exam. Deffinitly worth it. The practise questions in the back are some right off the actual test. Passed my exams with the help of this book
Used this study guide for a group of 5 dental assistants wanting to take their DANB exams – guide was easy to follow, DANB Practice Tests were VERY helpful. I did not expect that there would be so much information on all 3 DANB exams.
I have never had formal training as a dental assistant and I have been a dental assistant for 27 years. I felt the study guide opened my eyes to things I never really knew before.
Something as small as how to tell the difference of maxillary and mandibular teeth. I didn't need to know that since I when I would report to the Dentist which tooth it was already in the mouth.
I brought this book for my wife’s preparation for CDA exam. In her opinion, this book is riddled with unorganized and incorrect information. Some of the important facts have been skipped/given wrong, so she had to spend time in checking other resources to get them right. Needless to say, there are lots of spelling mistakes. Per my wife, In comparison to a couple of other books she is studying currently, this book doesn’t meet the standards.
I did pass my EFDA exam with this book so I was thrilled about that! However, there were a lot of misspelled words. I was not sure I was getting the proper information. I was training in clinical as well as with the book so I am not sure which one helped me pass. If you are new to dental assisting I would buy a different book just in case.
Passed my CDA Test so I guess it worked! Although, Most of what was on the test we went over in a day long review so if your state offers that then you can probably do without the Study Guide.
